Tennessee sets no mandatory CE-hour count for RNs. Instead you keep evidence of two items from a 14-option continued-competence list; continuing education (10 contact hours per cycle) is only one of those options.
What these figures do and do not cover
The hours figure is the requirement for an ordinary active renewal. It does not include first-renewal or post-licence education, which several boards set separately and which is usually larger. The fee is the board's own renewal charge and excludes late penalties, reinstatement and any third-party processing fee. Each profession page spells both out.
Deadlines are worth checking on the profession page rather than here. Some boards renew everyone on one date, some on the licensee's birthday, and some set different dates for different licence types inside the same profession.
